The New
Neighbourhood

The new neighbourhood of Milano Santa Giulia is composed of two parts.
The south zone is located beside the Rogoredo district and it is almost entirely complete. This section includes a fully occupied residential area housing (around 1,800 families), Sky European headquarters (three buildings, 60.000 sq. m.), a large, equipped park (Parco Trapezio), personal services (nursery and RSA), a shopping and entertainment street (Promenade). It will be realyzed soon a new business centre
The north zone, which will be composed of a large urban park and a new section of the development that will include apartments, offices, a retail and entertainment district and a network of footpaths, squares and public spaces.
Sustainability, smartness and integration with Milan’s metropolitan area are the guiding principles behind the new neighbourhood.

Retail Street

A new vision for retail spaces where you can find leading brands and new concept stores. The project’s appeal will be enhanced by adding leisure areas (park, plazas, urban spaces, etc.) to the retail space, thereby creating a more varied and complete shopping experience.

Business Centre – north section

The development will include innovatively designed offices with a strong focus on the quality of the workplace, well-being and efficiently managed spaces. The offices will be concentrated in the north section (the business centre) and will occupy the upper floors of the retail district too.

Multifunctional Arena

The largest multifunctional arena in the city, which will host some of the most important concerts, conventions and sports and cultural events. Thanks to the excellent transport links (motorway, MM, subways, ATA), a very wide user base can be activated.

Technological Museum of Innovation for Children

The first museum dedicated to the subject of smart cities designed entirely for children. Inside, with educational displays, laboratories and WOW experiences, children will learn about, explore and construct the smart cities of the future. The Museum will be planned and built in partnership with the Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci di Milano (Milan’s Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci).

Urban Squares

The development will include several squares, pedestrian areas and meeting places of various dimensions and located in different parts of the district to encourage a vibrant atmosphere throughout the neighbourhood at all times of day.

Urban Park

The large urban park is the green heart of the development and will include play areas, cycle and jogging lanes, cafés, sports facilities and a lake in the north section. It is designed for interaction with the rest of the neighbourhood and to promote and connect the different sections (330,000 sq.m.).

Transport by Road

The strategic position of the development and the currently existing road network facilitate direct connections to the rest of Milan and fast access to the motorway system via the A51 eastern ring-road.

Connections

The neighbourhood is located in a convenient position, close to Rogoredo station, which joins the M3 subway line and connects the district directly with central Milan, the subway network, the high-speed train station and the Rail Link. It is a hub that allows efficient, rapid connections to a wide range of destinations.

Residential Area

The residential area that is already built and occupied, adjacent to Parco Trapezio and bordered to the east by the Promenade, currently houses approximately 1,800 families.

Nursery

A modern educational establishment, surrounded by greenery and opened in January 2013, it houses four sections for pre-school and nursery aged children.

Promenade

The long promenade that skirts the residential area and Parco Trapezio will connect Rogoredo train station with Library and Sports Square. It is one of the main routes in the south of the neighbourhood, which is a place for socialising, relaxation, shopping and entertainment.

Nursing Home

The Nursing Home in Milano Santa Giulia will measure over 5,000 mq and will be modern, comfortable and equipped with an internal garden and numerous communal areas. It will have capacity to accommodate 120 people in different types of rooms.

Business centre – south section

The project includes the construction of another 3 office buildings with modern designs and efficient, flexible spaces planned according to the principles of smartworking and sustainability.

Sky HQ

Multifunctional business centre composed of three buildings where the headquarters of the telecommunications giant, SKY, is located. The most recently completed building obtained LEED-CS 2009 Gold certification.

NORTH SECTION

The NORTH section represents a new neighbourhood concept planned and designed according to the most advanced criteria for sustainability and smart city status (smart living, smart mobility and smart working). It is a new neighbourhood for everyone with a network of apartments integrated with offices. It features a wide range of facilities for recreation, cultural pursuits, shopping and leisure time, characterised on the interior by a large urban park that connects the different districts.

SOUTH SECTION

The SOUTH section of Milano Santa Giulia is located beside the Rogoredo district and it includes a fully occupied residential area housing around 1,800 families, a business centre where Sky has its European headquarters (offices and television studios), a large, equipped park, Parco Trapezio, personal services (nursery and RSA), a Promenade, a pedestrian shopping and entertainment street. The newly built offices are designed according to LEED standards and combine environmental sustainability, smart working and modern, functional design that can meet the new demands of the workplace.
